About us


We run a family farm and specialise in essential oil production since 1988. Our long-standing interest in medicinal plants and preservation of natural habitats lead us to such activities.

The farm is situated in Grondines, a small rural municipality of the Comté de Portneuf bordering the St-Lawrence River. We have been here since 1973 and greatly appreciate the region's abundant and diversified wild flora.

We have been conducting experiments in the distillation of many aromatic plants growing in our region. With the years, this research has allowed us to gain the expertise required to produce quality essential oils from plants adapted to our climate. Laboratories such as the Horticultural Center of Agriculture Canada (Dr. André Bélanger) and Laseve (Dr. Guy Colin and Dr. François-Xavier Garneau) of Université du Québec à Chicoutimi have given us considerable support.

Aliksir has been producing oils since 1988. Originally mainly oriented towards conifers, our scope widened as we added bushes and wild as well as organically cultivated plants.
The essential oils are extracted through a traditional steam distillation technique. In order to insure the quality and the wholesomeness of our oils, the process takes place slowly and under low steam pressure. This also allows us to obtain a wider range of active components specific to each plant's essence.

Aliksir imports a great selection of essential oils from all around the world. These oils are bought directly from producers or distributors and in either cases, we make sure of their authenticity and quality.
