Canadian fleabane is an annual plant growing south of 55th parallel, in every Canadian province, except for
Newfoundland. It is now widely spread all over the planet. In Quebec, it is absent from various regions. Fleabane likes loose and well-drained soil. It often grows in vacant lots or burnt woods. Canadian fleabane is widely known by Native people. It is notably used as an antidiarrheal and antihemorrhagic after parturition (Blackfoot) as well as an analgesic against stomach pain (Chippewa). A salve can also be prepared with this plant to relieve painful joints.
