History and Origin
Cinnamon tree is slender and can reach 20 metres in height. Both its leaves and its bark contain essential oil, it is therefore highly useful for its medicinal and aromatic properties in Asiatic countries, where it grows naturally. The bark is harvested off the tree and steam distilled. On the medicinal level, it is used similarly as Ceylon cinnamon, mainly to treat flatulence, colic, diarrhea, and nausea. In Chinese traditional medicine, it is used mainly in cases of vascular disorders.

Aroma and taste The bark hydrosol has a deep cinnamon scent, with an intense edge one finds in the oil – candy for grown-ups. The flavor is also more intense but not at all hot, just wonderful 
Stability and sheld life The bark hydrosol is stable and probably lasts 18 to 24 months.
Properties and applications

Drink cinnamon hydrosol for sheer pleasure; add it to coffee for a wonderful touch, or combine cinnamon, coriander seed, and cardamom pod hydrosols with hot water for an aromatherapy chai.

The bark is quite stimulating to the mind and body, excellent when one is tired and concentration and focus are required, much better than coffee and delicious with coffee. An amazing digestive, it relieves bloat and colic pains very quickly. The bark oil is famous for its ability to kill infections of the digestive tract without damaging the beneficial flora; it appears that the hydrosol has similar, if slightly less potent, effects, and using the two in synergy can achieve pretty remarkable results. Combine cinnamon with yarrow – yes, it overpowers yarrow’s odor – to redress the balance of the entire digestive system, from appetite to elimination.
Punch au cidre
Ingrédients:
-1 litre de cidre
-2 tasses de jus d'ananas
-3 tasses de jus d'orange
-1/2 tasse de jus de citron
-2 tasses d'eau plus du sucre ou 7up
-1 boite d'ananas broyés
-1 cuillère à soupe d'hydrolat de cannelle
-2 gouttes d'huile essentielle de gingembre
Servir et décorer avec une rondelle d'orange ou de pomme.   

Vin chaud à la cannelle
-faire chauffer 1/2 litre de vin rouge,
-ajouter 1 tasse d'hydrolat de cannelle,
- mettre 5-6 tranches de citron dans le mélange,
Servir bien chaud.

Safety Data

Cinnamon hydrosol, just like cinnamon oil in less powerful, is irritating. Therefore you should AVOID spraying it directly on the face, and let your system rest after a prolonged treatment.
